Lollies doesn't ask you to sign up. The first time you open the game, your device generates a random, anonymous player ID and stores it locally — that's how we recognise you as "you" on future visits without asking for anything identifying. It's kept in your browser's local storage and sent to our server with your play, so we can run the leaderboard.
If you set a display name, that's stored alongside your player ID, on your device and on our server. Nothing about it identifies you beyond whatever name you chose to type in.
Each day's game — your moves and the resulting score — is stored on the server too. That's what the leaderboard, your rank, and the "past boards" archive are built from. There's no way to play a ranked game without the server storing that day's result; that's also how we stop people faking scores.
We use a self-hosted Umami instance to see, in aggregate, roughly how many people play and which parts of the game get used. It's cookieless and doesn't build a profile of you individually — we never send it your player ID, your name, or anything else that identifies you. It's the same kind of "how many people did X today" count you'd get from a hit counter, not individual tracking.
No email address is ever collected. No ads, and no ad networks or trackers of any kind beyond the aggregate analytics above. We don't sell, rent, or share your data with anyone — there's no one to share it with; this is a small, independently run game.
Since there's no sign-in, we can't look you up by email — but if you contact us with your player ID (open your browser's developer tools, Application/Storage tab, and look for lollies:player in local storage) we'll delete your scores, moves and display name from our server. Clearing your browser's local storage for this site removes your local copy immediately, though it won't remove what's already been stored on the server — contact us for that.
